I've been a pretty avid exerciser most of my life. I remember when I was just a teenager, I would wake up early and workout to some lady on tv.
Anyone else remember the old 80's workouts?
For a good laugh, click here. Complete with leg warmers, even!
That was me, and my sisters!
Not literally me and my sisters...let me be clear. :)
Then, when I got married, I splurged and bought the full set of The Firm Workout video tapes. Back then, I think the whole set cost me over $100.00, which was money well spent because I used them ALL THE TIME; and when I say "all the time," I mean almost 20 years and through having 5 children!
Let me be clear, they are not the new Firm workouts, but the classic workout series:
Let me just put my hand over my heart as I say "goodbye and farewell" to you, Firm! There is one big reason why I loved them so much....
they are killer hard!!
In other words, they worked.
I've purchased many other random dvd's over the years that have been fun, dancy, or with catchy music, but I've always come back to these, because they are the only ones that I have seen real results with. NOW:
The VHS player died, so I've been on my own to workout. I've ran, done the occasional squats and strength training at the gym, (heavy on the "occasional") but I've been on the lookout for a new series to take me into the next 10 years.
I think I've found it:
I had seen this advertised on tv, and they looked hard. That's one of the things I was attracted to.
After looking into other options, I went ahead and forked out the money and bought the whole series. I am a big believer in the "series." But I didn't pay full retail, I bought them discounted on eBay, and after the first 3 days of workouts, I can proudly say:
I've been drenched in sweat,
my body is sore,
and that makes me happy!
If you are looking for an easy workout, this is NOT for you.
But if you are looking for something that will keep you fit well into your older years, this is calling your name!
Here's to the next 10 years of fitness! Woohooooo!!!
